Milford High School's Track & Field + Cross Country teams are consistently among the top teams in DII for New Hampshire. The Boys seized state title in 2011 (Out), and been State Runner up in 2009 and 2010 (Out). The Girls have seized the state title in 2009, 2012 (In) and been State Runner Up in 2010 (In), 2010 (Out), 2012 (In), 2013 (In), 2013 (Out), and 2014 (Out). In addition to the team titles, Milford has had numerous class and state champions, as well as a few all All Americans.
Both teams are head coached by Mike Wright, a UMass Lowell graduate, since 2006. James Kallfelz coaches the high jump and hurdles, and was preceded by the legendary Dee Blanchard. Justin Platt coaches long and triple jump, while Jean Guy Letarte coaches throws.
The Track facilities are located adjacent to the High School at 100 West St, Milford, NH 03055. Hours are typically dawn until dusk for those under 18. The track was constructed with public funds through the generosity of the residents of Milford and many generous private donations. The track was completed in 2007. A list of the original sponsors can be found on MilfordOnTrack. Shortly after, the Milford High School hosted the New Hampshire State Track and Field Meet for the first time in 2009.
In addition to the use of the track for Milford High School and Middle School Track and Field the track is used extensively by the town citizens for exercise. Most morning, evenings, days during school vacations and weekends the track is used for walking, jogging and training by people of all ages.
